Garrett Gambill is a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee with a degree in kinesiology. He worked with the Elvis Presley show and assisted with recreational events at Memphis Botanic Gardens as a volunteer. In relation to orthopedics and sports medicine, Garrett Gambill hopes to work with Tennessee Titans, the Nashville, TN-based football team.
From 1960 to 1996, the Tennessee Titans were called the Oilers. They were one of the original American Football League Teams that existed when the upstart league was established in 1960. The Oilers consecutively won the AFL Championships in 1960 and 1961.
The next few years were not so successful for the team as they had four straight losing seasons. Just before the 1970 season, the AFL and NFL merged. This merger was not great for the Oilers, too, as their losing streak continued. In the late 70s, the team's fortunes rose as they advanced to the conference championship games. However, they were defeated twice in a row and fell back to low points in the AFC rankings.
In 1994, the Oilers made Jeff Fisher, their coach. He was coach when the team relocated to Nashville and changed its name. After this, they became relatively successful. Since 1999, the Tennessee giants have been a relevant name in American football. However, the team's best season is still the 1999 season, where they finished with a 13-3 record.
